Sometimes the best commentators are the ones who come so naturally that you don’t even realize how good they are. Mike Tirico is a player who can play anything – seriously. Tirico is on the microphone for Sunday night soccer, Notre Dame soccer, the Olympics, golf, and probably makes badminton sound exhilarating. He doesn’t have the iconic tagline, legendary callouts or embarrassing misses to his name, but that’s part of what makes him so good.
Al Michaels – Amazon Prime Video
Al Michaels may not know how to use Amazon Prime Video; nonetheless, he brought his talents to Thursday night’s game, leaving the NBC booth to the aforementioned Tirico. until he hung up the phone, Michaels was the best commentator in soccer. Michaels is knowledgeable, familiar, and gets along well with any color commentator who shows up. And he’s not shy about giving away little tidbits of information that could make the lives of those involved in sports betting a little sweeter.
